TEXT:               ACTS 1:1-11

No doubt, the forty days of the risen Lord with his disciples would be very intimate and full of teachings. Really, those with Him would not be just the twelve intimate associates but numerous ones. During the interactions, the disciples still displayed their ignorance of the kingdom of God which they narrowed to Israel only but Jesus intention was the universal church – the whole world which makes it possible for us too to be saved today. While God’s plan for Israel stands, he needed no reminder because he reserves the right to execute his plan as deemed due. Although Jesus did not shun the disciples off, He emphasized their need for the power of the Holy Spirit needed to function in their assignment of soul winning. Their immediate comforter as they missed Jesus were the two angels but soon, the permanent comforter, the Holy Spirit would come on them as they obeyed by staying in the proper place in Jerusalem.

PRAYER: Father, help me never to misplace my priorities.
