TEXT:   REVELATION 1:4-20

God can reach us and use us no matter the situation we may be. John the writer of the book of Revelation was not in a pleasant situation when he was visited by the Lord Jesus Christ. The seven churches were selected by Jesus. His appearance was extra-ordinary with majesty, authority, fearsome scrutinizing eyes. Churches do not exist for themselves and are still being scrutinized by Jesus today, but how many churches really belong to him today; following his standard? Jesus presented himself as the High Priest, the resurrected One and would never die again like the human High Priests of the past.

The seven pastors over the churches were symbolized as stars and angels, while churches were symbolized as candlesticks which stood the risk of being quenched if they fell below expectation. The conditions of each church are stated in subsequent chapters. Let us think, who are our pastors today and who are the people filling churches today?

PRAYER: Lord, make me worthy to be presentable as a member of your Church.
