TEXT: JOHN 20:1-9
Seeking the Lord early is full of benefits. Mary Magdalene’s dedication and devotion to her Messiah was demonstrated in her early call at the tomb where Jesus was laid. Whatever prevents us from tarrying on our bed must be of great importance to us. The fact that Mary hurried out of bed gave her the privilege of being the first to see the miracle of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the first ever to run with the good news of hope for humankind.
Mary got to the tomb early to witness a perplexing sight. Because she didn’t understand what had happened, Mary was sad. In her bid to find a solution to the miracle of an empty tomb she ran to the disciples. Mary acted wisely because a problem shared with the right people is a problem solved. With whom do you share your own burden and perplexity?
Let us follow the good example of Mary in our devotion to God and in our readiness to fellowship with fellow believers. Seeking the Lord early gives us the unique opportunity for special blessings from God.
PRAYER: Father, please help me to be wholly loyal and devoted to you.
