TEXT:      LUKE 22:7-22

The Passover and the way Christ observed it, is a high point in His ministry and a testimony to the fact that He did not come to change the law but to observe and bring it to pass. The way the Passover was observed before the event recorded in the passage before us was shown to be a picture of what was to come through Jesus Christ the Messiah.

In essence therefore, the way Jesus Christ celebrated the Passover has brought about the establishment of a New Covenant. Unlike the earlier times when the blood of animals had to be used each time man wanted God to forgive his sins, the Blood of Christ is now the provision made for the remission of sins. The New Covenant symbolizes the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by which we have redemption.
