TEXT: MATTHEW 25:1-13
Some version of the bible tagged our topic The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins. The key word in Proverbs is wisdom, “the ability to live life skillfully”. Solomon in Proverbs admonishes us to seek wisdom and have understanding. The Wise Virgins represent people who live to satisfy God in this ungodly world. They didn’t allow the things of this world to erode the Word from their heart and as such are daily conscious of the proclamation the angels made in Acts 1:11 about the second coming of Jesus. They keep to studying and expect the Father. No man wants to be addressed as being foolish, but is man not foolish when he allows the things of this world to occupy his heart instead of eternal things? Some even insinuate that Jesus will not come again! Some say when a man dies, his own Jesus has come! Foolishness! Like the Wise Virgins, let us be watchful and be on our guard since we don’t know when the trumpet shall sound.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to be sensitive to Your Word and directives so that I will not be caught unawares at Your second coming. Amen
