TEXT:   PROVERBS 10:1-15

The two types of people’s lifestyles in the world that affect the self and the society are the wicked and the righteous, the lovers of God’s word and those nonchalant to God’s word.  Here are the blessings of the righteous, those who live by the word of God (i) v. 1 the godly child rejoice at the benefits of good instructions of parents (ii) v.2 as the unrighteous hoard their riches selfishly, the righteous enjoys the benefits of storing his riches in heaven (iii) v.3 the righteous will not only be provided for in time of scarcity but will also be protected (iv.) vv.6-7 The righteous enjoys being the fountain of joy to society while the wicked see reward of being thorn to society (v.) v.9 the righteous receives God’s direction from the word (vi) vv. 10-13 the righteous take to the right path, enjoy peace and easily corrected by God’s word when they make mistakes (vii) v. 15 the righteous will eventually overcome the unrighteous.  It is therefore good to be righteous because it blesses humanity and pleases God too.

PRAYER: God, help me to always to tread the path of righteousness in Jesus’ name.
