TEXT:   1TIMOTHY 3:1-13

Paul was being used by the Holy Spirit to inform his son in the Lord, Timothy of what would happen in future and the environment in which Christianity had to go through up till our time. Such thorny, surroundings as mentioned in verses 2-8 as perilous times, selfishness, boasting, pride, blasphemy, disobedience, falsehood, incontinence, contempt for godly people, rebellion, stubbornness, pleasure lovers, apostles, deceit, disregard for the truth.

But Paul stressed the good characteristics of the good Christian workers such as holding to sound doctrine, faith, perseverance, charity and patience.  We should be careful not to be grouped with James and Jamborees in verse 8.  May we not be on record for evil in Jesus name. Do you possess the qualities to be called an overcomer?

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me with your Spirit to move me always to be a good Christian worker.
