TEXT:   MATTHEW 6: 5-13

Jesus lived a life of prayer throughout His presence on the earth. He never compromised His prayer life. He will not allow anything to affect His prayer life. From today’s bible reading, Jesus’ emphasis was on ‘when thou prayest’, what you need to take notice of (i) Don’t pray for public show; Several people pray today for the public to know that they are prayer warriors while there is no inner prayer life. (ii) Pray in your closet and shut the door; stop jumping and shouting up and down. Pray to your father who is in the secret and sees all and (iii) stop using repetitions – go straight to the point. He is your father. He hears not because you have said it over and over again. Jesus’ prayers are clear, straightforward, without self-publicity in a solitary place.

PRAYER: LORD, please help me to cultivate a life of prayer that prayer will be more than an activity to me and I will not be a hypocrite when I pray.
