TEXT:   JOHN 3:1-16

God gave his gift to the world, that of, his only Begotten Son. This divine son, by his birth on earth gave himself as the greatest gift of all time. This gift provides the plan for our salvation and gave up his life that we might rise from the grave and have a happy life in the eternities, forever.

No greater gift that has been given in human history than Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. We should not take this gift from God for granted by going on, in our sinful ways but to accept the gift because it is only through him that we can be saved. ‘For by grace we have been saved through faith and that not of ourselves, it is the gift to God (Rom 9:16). There is no way through which we can be saved except through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who came to die for us to save us from eternal damnation in hell fire. God has demonstrated his love to human beings as stated in John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

It is important to realize that his final command is to believe and be baptized or perish forever. God has also given us the gift of the Holy Spirit that lives in the believers of Christ through faith that helps them to live their lives according to the will of God. This is expressed in repentance and baptism. This gift of God is priceless. All we need to do to be saved is to believe.

PRAYER: Help me not to reject the gift of salvation through Jesus’ Christ. Amen.
