TEXT:   MALACHI 3:1-6

Most often we think of money when we talk of robbing God but it is more than that. We rob God when we are stingy with our time, keeping it only for ourselves and not praying, worshipping and serving as expected of us.

Malachi 3 shows that we often rob God in several ways. God has clearly stated that when we refuse to pay our tithes, we are robbing him. Is it actually possible to rob God?

Even today, there are many Christians who believe that tithing is not important but it is very important as God explained specifically that people of Israel were robbing Him by bringing only part of their tithes and offerings. In their tight-fisted, self-centered state they were cheating God. If you are failing to bring to Him the whole tithe and required offerings to the temple, then you are robbing God.

The law mandates that one tenth of your farm produce, your salaries, and other material possessions should be given to God. When you refuse to tithe, you are not putting God first in your life and possessions.

The promise with tithing is a test of God and God has declared that he would open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will be not a room enough to store it.

Do you really pay your tithe to the house of God fully, or are you still robbing God? Try and pay your tithe to the house of God and see what God will do for you.

PRAYER: Grant me the spirit of faithfulness, so that I will not rob you again oh God in Jesus’ name. Amen
