FOLLOW TO BEAR FRUITS

TEXT:   JOHN 15:1-16

The Lord Jesus called us to follow him and to bear fruit and that our fruit would remain. This signifies that the spiritual life is not ours. It’s God’s work in us. Through the Lord Jesus, God pumps spiritual life into us to bear fruit through us. It means living a life with good morals and motives as well as doing good things for others. This has an attractive power to draw people to Jesus through our actions.

Christ has called us to know the truth and he expects us to bring others into the truth and light. When our pattern of life attracts us to Christ and when with the power of the Holy Spirit can to bring sinners to know Christ, we are bearing fruits.

To be able to bear many fruits, Christ enjoined us to abide in Him and His words abide in us, by the power of the spirit, then the fruit of the Spirit and the virtues of Jesus will also come forth in our lives. When we abide in him and him in us, we would ask for anything and it shall be done or given to us.

There are so many benefits we can enjoy when we abide in Jesus. We enjoy His divine love and crops out in the fruit of love for the nourishment and refreshment of other people.  He asks us to love one another as love is fulfilling the commands of Jesus. Fulfilling the commands of Jesus is part of what it means to bear fruit. We should also show the love of Jesus to other people so that they can come to repentance. Bearing fruits also connotes bringing more souls to Christ.

PRAYER: Father, grant me all that is needed to win souls into your eternal kingdom in Jesus’ wonderful name. Amen.
