TEXT:   1CORINTHIANS 15:51-52

This is a mystery that gives the believers hope of eternal life. Paul was explaining the things about the resurrection body that was not understood but is now revealed. Many people believe that once one dies, that is the end because of their ignorance. The Bible has clearly stated that there is life after death. This life after death is what is explained here.

From the foregoing, Paul describes the death of a Christian as sleep because someday, particularly when Jesus shall appear in heaven on the last day or for his second coming we shall all be changed in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet. The dead will be raised imperishable and those still alive and are true followers of Christ will be changed to meet the Lord in the air. This indicates victory over death; because those who had died will be resurrected.

Many people have referenced Matthew 24:31 for this mystery of the rapture. Also, Revelations 11:15 could be cited for this ‘loud trumpet call’.

Let us imagine how it would look like if the trumpet sounds and one is not among the resurrected or one is alive but not changed. Such people are doomed to everlasting punishment and tribulation. Let us be fully prepared for the rapture, which is the believers’ hope in Christ. Our hope as Christians shall not be dashed when the trumpet shall sound.
