TEXT: DANIEL 12:2-13
The promise of biblical prophecy would bring hope to the believer who will die before they are fulfilled through resurrection. The promises of God which are not fulfilled in this life are fulfilled in the next. These words are words of comfort intended to turn the sorrow of believers into joy. The words bring joy to the hearts of the believers of any age and terror into the hearts of the wicked. The prophecy of Daniel is the revelation of God’s plan for the future.
Daniel wanted to know when the suffering of his people would end but realized that those who are righteous will be purged and purified by their suffering prepared for the coming of the King and His kingdom. “Those who are wicked will not understand what God is doing and they will persist in their sin, waiting the day of their judgment (1Pet 1:6-7). However, while the wicked blindly pursue the same cause of sin, those who have insight will understand and see the hand of God guiding the course of human history in such a way as to fulfill His purpose and promises.
When we look at what is happening today, the wicked are becoming wicked even in the house of God. We are on a daily basis warned yet people are still pursuing their sinful ways and are lost as spelt out in the vision of Daniel. What shall we do to get prepared for the King’s coming? We should forsake our sinful ways and get purified before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The choice is ours.
PRAYER- Father, make me ready by forgiving me my sins to be ready for your coming in Christ’s name. Amen.
