TEXTS: JONAH 2:1-9

Unlike other prophets who received the word of God, Jonah was not given a message for his own people rather he was commissioned to go to Nineveh, a Gentile city which was highly populated, powerful and large. Nineveh was inhabited by people who were wicked and sinned greatly, Jonah was sent not only to the Gentile but especially to those hated by the Jews and behold instead of heading to Nineveh be boarded a ship to Tarshish which was westward and opposite to Nineveh. He foolishly through his change of direction would removed him from the convicting presence of God and He call! Do you run away from God? After spending three days and nights inside a fish he prayed and family thanked God because he knew only God could deliver him from his impossible situation in the fish’s belly.

The fish vomited him and he finally went to Nineveh, preached the word and the people repented.

Today is not meant for social gathering without God but for spiritual followership with people of God seek the kingdom of God first allow everybody in your family be in the presence of God

PRAYER: Pray that God will help you to forsake all areas of your life where you have been disobeying Him. Confess them and pray further for the blessing of the Holy Spirit.
