TEXT:   2 SAMUEL 7:18-29

A covenant is a legally binding obligation (promise).  Throughout history God has made covenants with his people, he would keep his side if they would keep theirs. David uses the phrase O Lord God eight times expressing his close intimacy with his God.  We can also learn about God’s faithfulness and grace from his promises to David.  God is very unique to have delivered and redeemed his people (Israelites) from Egypt.  David humbly considered himself unworthy of all the Lord’s blessings.  He attributes all his success to the Lord. He reminded God and pleaded that the promises of God for him and his descendants must stand forever.  Our obedience to God will give us assurance of the fulfillment of his promises to us even for a distant future.

PRAYER: Lord do as you have promised concerning me and my family in Jesus name.
