TEXT:    GENESIS 5:1-5

In what ways are we made like God or in his image according to our text today? God obviously did not create us exactly like Himself because God has no physical body. Instead the likeness refers to “the reflection of God’s glory. Some believe that, our reasoning capacity, creativity, speech, and self determination is what depicts God’s likeness in man. But more likely, it is everything about man, excluding his corrupt nature. We will not be totally or exactly like God because He is our Supreme Creator. But we do have the ability to reflect his character in love, patience, forgiveness, kindness and faithfulness. Knowing that we are made in the likeness of God, there by sharing many of his characteristics provides strong basis for self worth. Human worth is not base how much we poses or accumulate achievements, physical attractiveness or status. It is instead base on being made in the likeness of God because we bear His image. So there is need for everyone to come personal knowledge of God so that the reason for our existence can be effective.

PRAYER: Help us to keep demonstrating your likeness as long as we live in Jesus name
