COLOSSIANS 2:1-5
Paul who was far away from Colossian wrote a letter to them to keep their faith and stay away from heretical teachings. The problem he was combating in the Colossian church was similar to Gnostism (from the Greek word for knowledge). The heresy undermined Christianity in several basic ways. Paul made them realize that Christ provides all the knowledge we need. God lived in a body – that is he was embodied in Jesus Christ. All wisdom that we need dwells in Jesus Christ. Learn daily about the Saviour, study the Bible, develop your biblical and theological knowledge. Pray for understanding so that you will not be deceived. God has given us minds of learning, never quit using yours.
