LUKE 2:39-52
Christ’s deity and humanity were both necessary for our salvation. He had to be God to forgive our sins, and he had to be a human being to die and make atonement for us. Luke relates Jesus’ physical and intellectual growth and God’s grace in his life (vs. 40). In verse 47, he records twelve-year-old Jesus’ precious understanding before the teachers at Passover, His submission to his parents, and Mary’s treasuring of fond memories. Jesus was genuinely human, Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favour with God and man. His parents found him in the temple talking with the teachers of the law. Those who heard him were amazed at his understanding, but his parents rebuked him for giving them, such anxiety. Jesus made them to know that he is in his Father’s house. Jesus grows in key areas which include: physical, mental, social and spiritual – which is also expected of us too.

   Jesus was genuinely human, Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favour with God and man.

PRAYER: Help me O Lord to continue growing in every area of life, most especially in spirit in Jesus name.
