TEXT:   LUKE 10:38-42

The event of Jesus being a guest in the home of Mary and Martha has lessons for us. Some hold the view that Martha was doing the wrong thing by concentrating on entertainment rather than hearing the word of God like Mary since they were both hostesses.  Jesus made a gentle corrective reaction to Martha’s agitated invitation to Mary to join her. We can apply these lessons in our daily Christian services from the short event. 1. Making good preparations against disturbances during various services and conferences like some women cooking while many are inside the conference hall, Choristers arranging musical instruments instead of being in the Sunday school classes, pastor doing visitation instead of joining the teachers in the Sunday School preparation class, and so on. 2. Approach fellow co-workers mannerly even when we are doing the right thing.
