TEXT: LUKE 10:25-37
The story of the Good Samaritan is so familiar that we often quote it daily in our dealings with fellow human beings. However, our relationships with other people are often biased. Many people would rather do good to someone who would repay, than do good with compassion. Cruelty and religious activities have blinded the eyes of the priest and the elites from rendering assistance to the helpless in a sorry situation.
Let us think deeply on how many people would have been comforted through us but tribalism, denominationalism, pride, wickedness and so on have made us to neglect the opportunities to be good. It may be costly to do good at times, the way it cost the Good Samaritan time, money and the risk of being identified with the misfortune of the wounded man but we must be godly to do the necessary and leave the rest for God’s intervention.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, give me the spirit and guidance to comfort others where necessary.
