TEXT: JOHN 10:1-18
We Christians are the sheep (the flock), Jesus is the Shepherd. He is the only one qualified to be called “The Good Shepherd” because of what he has done, what He is still doing and what He will still do. Jesus as the (Good Shepherd) has become the gate to God by dying on the cross for our sins to pave way for our salvation (Acts 4:12). The Good Shepherd extended the salvation plan to the non-Jews including us today. As the Good Shepherd, Jesus provides safety in our journey of life. Furthermore, he protects and provides spiritual satisfaction in his word.
The Good Shepherd’s goodness surpasses other religious leaders both past and present because they are human and temporary whereas Jesus’ is divine and everlasting. Jesus the Good Shepherd was, He is and He will continue His role of salvation provider as long as the world exists, gives safety and satisfaction (Heb 10:8).
PRAYER: 1. My God, please uphold me so that I will never forsake you and then miss the goodness of Jesus.
