TEXT: 2TIMOTHY 4:1-11
Everyone needs encouragement. Versatile and fearless as Apostle Paul was, he needed some people around him. In our walk with God, we all need godly people who will stand by us physically and spiritually. Demas was supposed to be one of the supporters of Apostle Paul, but unfortunately, at a point he (Demas) decided to leave Paul because of “the good things of this world.” He forgot that a lover of the world is an enemy of God (John 4:4). Jesus was very emphatic in Matthew 16:26 about the losing of our soul because of things of this world. With the present situation in our country, many people who hitherto were children of God, have compromised their faith by pitching tent and going in the will of the world which the bible caution us that we are in the world, but not of the world. Search your mind, is there a way or ways you have strayed away from the Word and have gone your own way because of things of this world?
Trace your step and come back to the ever ready Father, He will accept you and restore you.
PRAYER: Father please, search me, purge me and accept me as I return to you like a prodigal son in Jesus’ Name. Amen
