TEXT: MATTHEW 5:10 – 16
As believers Jesus in Matthew 10:16-26 prepare our minds for impending persecutions which will come in different forms. Therefore, as children of God in a perverse world which doesn’t want to have anything to do with Jesus, we should be prepared to face persecutions. You may be discriminated against at home, school, work place or even in the neighborhood because of your stand for Christ. Even in such situations, our text today in verse 12 admonishes us to “Rejoice” and be “Exceedingly glad” in persecution because “great” is our reward in heaven. To show that you are not a lone ranger, the same verse 12 closes by informing us that even prophets who were before us were persecuted.
PRAYER: Lord you promised to always be with your own.
Kindly help my weak spirit even in the face of persecution so that I will not compromise my faith in You in Jesus Name. Amen.
