TEXT: ISAIAH 49: 7 – 13
The term ‘sing for joy’ connotes a period of celebration and excitement which is a result of an experience. The passage emphasizes a major reason for such an expression of joy. One is the fact that we are ‘chosen’ by the Lord (v. 7b). This choice is not by works, lest any man boast of his/her brilliance, but rather of the Lord’s mercy. Thus even in the state of joy and excitement, there should be a note of caution in our hearts. This keeps us in line ensuring we continually live a life in which we can be ‘vessels’ holy and acceptable to God (2Tim 2:21).
PRAYER: Father, I will rejoice in You and keep praising You for the rest of this new year in Jesus name. Amen.
