TEXTS: DEUT 10:15-22
God in this passage heeded the wish of the people because they thought that they would be consumed if God appeared to them in person to talk to them He thereafter promised to “raise a prophet from among the Israelites” whom He would tell whatever words say in fact. The Living Bible describes a prophet as “God’s spokesman”
While showing the important place of prophets. God declared in vs 19, that He will personally deal with anyone who will not listen to and heed the prophet’s words. God also made it clear that false prophets will come but such prophets must die. How can we know false prophets? Vs 22 says if what is prophesied does not come to pass such is a false prophet who does not come by the Holy Spirit and no one should be afraid of him.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to listen to and heed the words of your chosen prophets absolution. Protect me from false prophets in Jesus name.
