TEXT: MATTHEW 21:28-32

The parable in our basic scripture today shows two distinct sets of people. The first set “rejected” the gospel but later regretted their actions, turned a new leaf and “accepted” it and lived according to its teachings, while the second set “accepted” or “agreed” only with their mouth but not with their hearts so they exhibited: lip service” to God because they did not obey what He commanded. The first set of people might have been condemned by the second set of people but Jesus himself in vv 31 and 32 that the condemned people would enter the kingdom of God before the set who condemned them.

The Ten commandment as we have in Ex 20 are meant to help us live a successful life. When we obey them it is to our benefit but when we disobey we shall suffer for it. Many say “Yes” to Jesus but their actions say “No”
